Pokharelis enjoy yet another acoustics eve

POKHARA: It was 8:00 pm on March 1 and the Byanjan Grill of the Lake City was already packed with people. Every table was occupied with hardly any room in between the tables as the restaurant was hosting the Blenders Pride Acoustics Weekender @ Pokhara.

With the acoustics weekend having started on February 28 at Paradise Lounge, the audience were eager to experience another evening of music second day in a row. According to restaurant owner Baibhav Poudel, there was a bigger turnout of people than on Friday. “In fact, it was raining heavily but that did little to affect the programme as the audience treated themselves to the musical performance by The Sign Band and Subani Moktan,” he said.

The evening started with The Sign Band’s main vocalist and guitarist Sonam Lama crooning some Nepali, Hindi and English numbers of the audience’s choice. Then Subani sang in her soulful voice taking the listeners to musical paradise indeed.

Subani was at a loss of words to praise the love for music that she felt among Pokharelis. “I felt very happy that my fans liked me and regarding this place, who on earth doesn’t get enticed by the beauty of the place and the loving people?”

Organiser U-Turn’s chief Rabin Sitaula too could not help expressing his happiness at the opportunity of having to get to organise such a programme in this beautiful place.

“It was a pleasant experience to organise such programme here,” said Sitaula, adding he will be coming to the city in the future too with such programmes.

On March 2, the artistes performed at Busy Bee.
